No Rules Quilting!

Here\’s what we decided at the meeting on Saturday:

We selected 13 fabrics, getting 1/4 yard of each. Cut square in 5\”, 4\”, 3\” and 2\”, using half of each fabric. If you have background colors, cut 1\” strips for sashing along with some squares.

Here is Cassie\’s (really great!!!) explanation, complete with picture:

\”I cut a 5 inch strip from my fabric, then cut 2 sets of 5 inch squares, 1 set of 4\” x 5\” rectangles, 1 set of 3\” x 5\” rectangles, 2 sets of 2\” squares and 2\” x3\” rectangles. I left the rectangles because as Susan and I were looking at the quilt picture we decided that some of the shapes (from about the middle up) were rectangles. This way it would be easy to make them into squares, and if we want them to be rectangles – they already are. Just a thought, if you haven\’t already cut your fabric, you might want to leave some as rectangles.\”
