Our October meeting is this week - Thursday the 8th at 6:30pm. We meet at The Quilt Basket (shout-out to the Quilt Basket! They are simply amazing to work with. We are so grateful for all their support!!!). Hope to see you Thursday!
Hi everyone! I just wanted to be sure everyone gets the invite to our October Sew Day - October 2nd from 1pm to 8:30pm. It's a Friday and most of us will get there after work. We will order dinner (on your own) or bring something. And if anyone wants to bring a dessert to share, that would be great! Bring any project you'd like to work on AND remember:
We're each making name tags! For the last several years, we've used disposable name tags at each meeting. But now we're ready to upgrade to something creative, unique and permanent. The only two "rules" are: it can be no bigger than 3x5 and must use at least one of the Guild charity quilt fabrics. (I'll bring what I have left to the Sew Day so you can pick some up if you missed the meeting.) I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
Its time for June's Guild Meeting. 6:30pm on Thursday, June 11th. As always, we meet at the Quilt Basket. This month's show and tell theme is Your First Quilt or Most Recent Quilt. Bring one of these (or pictures!) to share in addition to your current projects. If you're working on the BOM, bring your finished blocks to be entered into the drawing. Last month, we had some fantastic prizes! Hope to see you Thursday.
You know how you've been putting off working on your Guild BOM?!? Yes - you! Now you have a reason to get motivated (other than personal pride and satisfaction): free stuff! The Guild has gotten a few free items lately (see above pictures) and Kathy has generously offered to donate fabric from her significant stash to "incentivize" members to complete the BOM. Everyone who finished their blocks will be entered into a drawing for cool fabric and other ransom sewing stuff. So, what are you waiting for?! Glory and fabric await!
It's meeting week! Thursday. 6:30pm. The Quilt Basket. The theme is "mini quilts" so bring your mini quilts to show and tell! Kathy will demonstrate paper piecing for us and we can pick up our Gravity books and start choosing fabric. See you then!
Let's go to the Shop Hop!! We will meet in the back parking lot of The Quilt Basket on Saturday, March 7th at 9am so we can carpool down to Sierra Vista. We will plan to visit as many shops as we can fit in and end our day back at The Quilt Basket. Hope to see you then!
We will have our first meeting of 2015 tomorrow, January 8th, at 6:30 at the Quilt Basket. Ann will do a short demo for us. In December, we decided we want to have a way to see things people have made that might get finished between meetings or that we might have made before joining the Guild. So, we're going to have a "theme" each month for our show-and-tell where everyone can bring something (or a picture of that something) they've made that fits into the theme. January's theme is Pillowcases/Pillows. So, in addition to your regular show-and-tell, come and show off your pillow making skills!
Our QuiltCon Charity Quilt was finished and sent in by Kristi (HUGE thank you to her!!!). It turned out STUNNING! Here's one of the amazing pictures she took at the Mission.
