One goal we have is to become more involved in the Tucson community as a guild. We decided that to be most effective we should choose one organization each year. This year we have voted to donate quilts to the Cancer Center. These lap quilts will be used by patients during chemo treatments and will stay at the center.
Each month Kristi, one of our amazing members, has been sharing a block with us. She presents a traditional block and then gives it a modern spin! It has been wonderful! (We will get a page up with the PDF’s of each block.) Guild members then make one (or more) of these blocks so that they can learn new techniques and play with design. Then we bring the blocks together to make one of these lap quilts for the cancer center. We also have members donating their time and services to back, quilt and bind these for the Caner Center. I’m so proud to be part of this group!
